Fluorescent Fixture Repairs
Fluorescent Light Fixtures Not Working?
Whether they flicker constantly or won't turn on at all, faulty fluorescent lights can drive you crazy. Worse yet, fluorsecent light problems can be tough for homeowners to diagnose and fix. But our licensed electricians perform fluorescent light repairs and upgrades all the time. If you need your existing fluorescent lights repaired, or you’re considering upgrading to energy-efficient fluorescent LEDs, Knightly Electrical Services can help.
Non-Ballas Bypass Fluorescent Light Replacement
To operate properly, conventional fluorescent lights require something called a ballast to provide the voltage needed to ignite the tube's gas and regulate the amount of current the light can draw. If your current ballast works properly, you can replace the existing tubes or upgrade to LED fluorescent tubes designed to work with a ballast.
Ballast Bypass Fluorescent Light Replacement
In most cases, it is wise to perform a ballast bypass when addressing fluorescent light problems. This involves removing the existing ballast and then hardwiring new LED fixtures to your home. This reduces the amount of maintenance required, eliminates the potential for a faulty ballast, and provides better energy efficiency.
Fluorescent Lights Provide Better Light Quality
The light produced by fluorescent tubes is rarely impressive. Most fluorescent tubes cast a cold or yellow-tinged light, which prevents your home from looking the best it can. Fortunately, there are a variety of LED options available. Most LEDs produce light with a higher color-rendering index than fluorescent tubes, and they are available in a range of color temperatures.
LEDs Are Better for the Planet
In addition to providing better light quality than fluorescent tubes, LED lights also provide a wealth of environmental benefits. LED bulbs not only last longer than fluorescent lights, but they are also recyclable, made without planet-harming mercury, and produce less heat. They’re also much more efficient than fluorescent tubes, which helps reduce your carbon footprint (and save you money).
