FIRE & SAFETY PROTECTION

More then 51,000 Electrical Fires happen each year in America. Correctly installed equipment minimizes the chances of electrical overloads and short circuits, which are common culprits behind electrical fires.   Equipment such as modern day smoke detectors and arc-fault breakers can actually help detect electrical fires right before they start, allowing you to take care of the problem before it grows out of control!

FIRE PROTECTION

More then  1000 deaths, and more than 30,000 people are hospitalized each year from electrical shock. Up to date electrical safety equipment is paramount in the controlling the safety of your family inside your home.  Equipment such as proper GFCI Protection and modern tamper resistant receptacles help to prevent you and your children being severally hurt from electrical mis happenings.

LIFE SAFETY

PVC COATED WIRES

Before Plastics were made, we would coat our wires with cloth & fabric and dip the wires into fabric to create the "insulation".  Its been over 70+ Years since we have used this practice and all that cloth and wax has detreated, become brittle and will lead to arcing and eventually a fire
Water & Georgia's high humidity levels cause quick deuteriation of your homes exterior receptacles, and lead to 5300 electrical fires each year nation wide.  properly installed bubble covers help to prevent this by keeping these elements out of the receptacles.  Christmas lights and other long term plugged in cords should be able to plug in and be completely covered and protected.

BUBBLE COVERS

Having the electrical emergency shut off (Main Breaker) located on the outside of the home is important if you ever have a catastrophic failure inside your electrical panel.  You won't want to have to wait on the power company to turn off the power to your home during an emergency.

EXTERIOR EMERGENCY SHUT OFF

Modern Smoke detectors can detect fires before they happen, with smoldering detection technology.  Having them in the bedrooms ensure safety through out the whole home

HARDWIRED SMOKE DETECTORS

Electrical Components wear out over time and after 30 years of use the connections can become pretty loose.  Loose connections eventually lead to arcing & over heating then failure of the device.  Those failures are part of the 51,000 electrical fires America has each year.

AGE OF ELECTRICAL COMPONENTS

ARC-Fault breakers are a newer style of breakers with computer chips inside them that constantly read and monitor the circuit for possible electrical fires & arcing hazards

The National Electrical Code (NEC), often referred to as NFPA 70, is a set of electrical standards and regulations developed and maintained by the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) in the United States. The NEC provides a set of guidelines and requirements for the safe installation, use, and maintenance of electrical systems and equipment for electricians.  These code's set a minimum standard on fire protection and life safety that all licensed electricians must follow.

GFCI PROTECTION

GFCI devices (Receptacles with the buttons on them) are designed to protect people from severe & fatal electrical shock.  A GFCI constantly monitors current flowing through a circuit. If the current flowing into the circuit differs by a very small amount, the GFCI interrupts power faster than a blink of an eye to prevent you from becoming one of the 4,000 victims each year that are hospitalized from electrical shock.  GFCI Protection is required anywhere you could come in contact with water, such as 6ft from a sink. garages, and outdoors.  This includes all receptacles and appliances

BONDED & GROUNDED WATER LINE

These receptacles have spring-loaded shutters that close off the openings, or slots, of the receptacles when not in use, keeping children & adults safe from accidental electrocution.  Each year, approximately 2,400 children suffer severe shock and burns when they stick items into the slots of electrical receptacles.  Modern building codes require each receptacle inside your home to be tamper resistant.

BONDED & GROUNDED WATER LINE

All Electrical System have been grounded through the copper water lines since the beginning of time.  However if the Copper is separated or isolated in some areas, it can cause certain plumbing fixtures to become "live" with voltage.  If this happens, next time you go to wash your hands or take a shower, you could get shocked.

CARBON MONOXIDE DETECTORS

Carbon Monoxide is an odorless and deadly gas formed from the incomplete combustion of natural gas & propane from appliances such as gas stoves and furnaces.  More then 20,000 people are hospitalized from CO Poisoning each year.  National Fire Protection Agency requires them to be in the hallways outside your bedrooms, integrated with your hardwired smoke detector system.
